My name is Alix Kirshner, and I’m the founder of Higher Healing here in the Berkshires in Massachusetts. My path to this work has been shaped by both formal training and lived experience. I am a Certified Psychedelic Guide through the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness in Boulder, Colorado, trained in Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) and integration.
In addition to my private practice, I work as an Integration Coach with Mindbloom, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting over 1,000 clients through their ketamine therapy journeys. Bearing witness to so many people in moments of vulnerability and transformation has deepened my belief that healing is possible for all of us — especially when we feel safe, supported, and seen.
My work is not only professional, but personal. My own journey through grief, recovery, and illness has taught me what it means to face the unknown, to surrender, and to rediscover strength on the other side. These experiences continually inform how I hold space for others: with compassion, patience, and reverence for the courage it takes to heal.
I specialize in:
At Higher Healing, my intention is to create a safe, grounded, and heart-centered space where you can explore your inner world, release what no longer serves you, and bring the insights of your journey into everyday life. This isn’t a replacement for therapy or medical care — it’s a complementary path, one that honors the body, mind, and spirit as inseparable parts of healing.
Higher Healing is rooted in the belief that even our deepest challenges can become gateways to greater wisdom, resilience, and connection.
At Higher Healing in the Berkshires, I offer safe, intentional support for healing and growth — through Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT), integration coaching, and grief, loss & shame work. Sessions are warm, grounded, and tailored to you.

What is Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT)?
CAPT is a healing process where cannabis is used with clear intention in a guided, mindful setting. It creates a safe container to explore your inner world, process past experiences, and reconnect with yourself on a deeper level. Many people come to CAPT for support with anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, or life transitions. Others come simply to feel more present, connected, and alive.
Every journey is unique, but common experiences include:
Some sessions are powerful and intense, others are gentle and quietly profound. What’s most important is that the medicine tends to meet you exactly where you are, and only takes you as far as you’re ready to go.
A lot can happen in just one series (one preparation session, two medicine sessions, and one integration session). For many, that’s enough to experience real breakthroughs and lasting shifts. Others may choose to continue with occasional medicine sessions over time, especially when they feel at a crossroads or sense they’ve reached a block.
Talk therapy focuses on language and thought. CAPT invites you into the wisdom of your whole self — body, mind, and spirit. These sessions are closer to a guided mindfulness or meditation practice than to traditional counseling. They’re not meant to replace therapy or medical care, but to complement them. Many people find that CAPT opens new doors that make their ongoing therapy even more effective.
When practiced intentionally, cannabis is a very safe medicine with a long history of use. CAPT itself is safe for most adults, but it’s not for everyone. Before beginning, we’ll review a safety questionnaire together to make sure there are no medical or psychological contraindications.
CAPT is not a replacement for medical treatment, psychiatric care, or emergency support. It’s one piece of a larger healing journey.
Contraindications may include:
Yes. Cannabis, when grown and used with intention, can absolutely be a psychedelic medicine. It can open altered states of consciousness, deepen awareness, and support profound healing experiences. For many people, cannabis feels more accessible and gentle than other psychedelics — and that’s part of what makes it such a beautiful ally.
CAPT sessions are billed at $150/hour (sliding scale available).
A standard series includes:
Example pricing:
Some clients choose shorter sessions for exploration, while others benefit from longer sessions to go deeper. We’ll decide together what best fits your needs and intentions.
At Higher Healing, CAPT is more than a session — it’s an invitation to listen, release, and grow into more of who you truly are.
